DESIGNER'S NOTES

A unique Fox & Chave silk bow tie with design inspired by a microscopic view of the cells of the Danio Rerio, commonly known as the Zebrafish.

Zebrafish are widely used in genetic research due to their unique combination of biological and practical advantages. They share about 70% of their genes with humans, making them an excellent model for studying human genetic diseases.

The embryos of the species are transparent and develop outside the mother's body, allowing scientists to observe development in real time. Their rapid growth and high reproductive rate enable large-scale genetic studies and fast data collection. Additionally, zebrafish can be easily genetically manipulated facilitating the study of gene functions and pathways.

Researchers use zebrafish to investigate various biological processes, including organ development, neurobiology, and regenerative medicine. Their small size and cost-effectiveness also make them ideal for high-throughput drug screening.
