DESIGNER'S NOTES

This laminated tote style bag features the work Homage à Blériot (1914) by the French artist Robert Delaunay (1885-1941).

The painting typifies Orphism, the movemen founded by Delaunay through its dynamic interplay of vibrant colours and abstract forms, celebrating the pioneering spirit of aviation. Inspired by Louis Blériot's historic flight across the English Channel, Delaunay uses swirling, concentric shapes to evoke movement and energy, symbolising both the technological achievement and the excitement of modern progress.

The bold use of colour creates a rhythmic harmony that captures the viewer's attention, embodying Orphism’s focus on light, colour, and abstract representation rather than realistic depictions, resulting in an energetic, almost musical expression of innovation and speed.

The bag is fully lined, closes with a magnetic clasp and has an inner zip pocket.
