DESIGNER'S NOTES

A special monochrome Fox & Chave silk habotai scarf with a design of architectural features, particularly columns and other decorative elements from the classical tradition.

Examples of Tuscan and Doric columns can be seen in this scarf design. These are simple and sturdy columns with plain capitals. The Doric has no base and was used in structures like the Parthenon.

These contrast with more ornate examples from the classical period such as the Ionic, an elegant column, featuring scroll-like volutes on the capital and a slender, fluted shaft, as seen in the Erechtheion, and the Corinthian, the most ornate, with acanthus leaves and decorative elements on the capital.

STYLING

A Fox & Chave habotai silk scarf can be worn with the classic knot style or a pussycat bow. You can even create a shawl effect by knotting two scarves together behind your neck and allowing them to drape over your shoulders.
